Turkiye Burslari (Turkey Scholarship)
I received an e-mail confirming my acceptance
to the Turkiye Burslari or Turkey Scholarship for graduate studies on June 29
2:00+AM. The best pre-Ramadhan gift ever! And the reaction of normal people:
EXTREME HAPPINESS EVER! Who wouldn’t be happy when you know you’re one of the
select few plus the fact that they received 24,000++ applications for graduate
studies this year! Just to be given this rare chance to get international
education is enough to drive me crazily happy. Here’s a picture of my
acceptance e-mail. :)
The e-mail that changed my entire life. :) |
Like all government scholarships for
international students, Turkiye Burslari aims to deepen the bilateral relations
between Turkey and the scholars’ country. And to accomplish this, the scholars
have to return to their country after their graduate program. This is why
during interviews they ask the applicant’s plan after graduation. I was so
happy that I so love reading everything. Prior to my d-day, I come across a
file that mentioned of the criteria for selection. So during the phone
interview, I was able to state my plan of returning to Philippines and conduct
a wildlife research in my province and if possible teach at the state
university where I earned my Bachelor’s degree. Cultural exchange is another
exciting aspect of this scholarship because they invite foreign students coming
from different countries.
This is a full scholarship so everything is
free: air ticket to Turkey, accommodation, Turkish language proficiency classes
for eight months, free tuition, public health insurance and of course, monthly
allowance of 450 USD for graduate students. So technically, what is required
from the scholars is good academic standing.
Here’s basic information about the
scholarship.
How to
apply?
The application is online and free. You can
visit their site at www.turkiyeburslari.org. You will
have to attach everything (i.e. diploma, TOR, passport, and certificates) in
their online application system. They will send a confirmation e-mail that your
application has been submitted to the e-mail address you provided in their
system. They will send you updates to your e-mail and possibly an invitation
for interview. In my case, I never received an invitation for interview however
the scholarship team called me after two months and had an impromptu interview
that lasted only for 6 minutes and 33 seconds! Imagine my surprise! The
scholarship will be open for application next year somewhere in March 2014 for
graduate level. So keep posted! By the way, in the application, you have to
answer several essay questions.
Criteria

according to their academic success. Interview information will be delivered by

I will post another blog entry about
TURKEY! But for the meantime, I have to start learning their language. J
kindly tell me which type of questions were asked during the interview and what was the medium of interview i mean english or native language. waiting for ur reply
ReplyDeleteİ was interviewed by phone contrary to normal set-up which is usually held in the embassies. From the info forwarded to me by my friends, they often give you the freedom to choose which language do you prefer to use. If you best express yourself in English, they will allow you. My best advice in any interview whether for a scholarship or job is to be honest. And review also the objectives of the scholarship. Realign your personal and academic objectives with their objectives. There must be a common ground between the two of you. Think why you prefer Turkey over other, your long-term plan, and make sure if you are applying for grad program, your undergrad is relevant to it. And show how enthusiastic you are and eager to win the scholarship without appearing weird. May the odds be in your favor! :-D
DeleteCan I have your contact no. ?I have many questions
DeleteDear Bro i hav been reading your blogspot for a while and i really amazed of the posts about the scholarships wow! i am really glad to know you because your posts are helping me to be a hoper in my life
ReplyDeleteBRO AM A SECOND YEAR STUDENT IN ADDIS ABABA UNIVERSITY AND I HAV GOT A GRADE POINT OF 3.78 IN MY THREE SEMESTERS SO NOW I AM REALLY IN NEED OF SCHOLARSHIPS SO I AM READING ABT TURKIYE BURSLARI AND IF I GOT A CHANCE I AM READY TO START A NEWW UNDERGRAD COURSE IN TURKIYE SO CAN I SEND MY UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS TOO FOR EVALUATION BUT BEAR IN MIND THAT AM APPLYING FOR UNDERGRAD LEVEL! PLEASE ADVICE ME MY DEAR BRO??????
Hello Yohannes. Thanks for reading my post. I hope you win the scholarship this year. You have a good GPA, that will increase your chance to win the scholarship. I am not sure if you can actually attach your 3-sem transcript but i advise you to keep it with you. In case there's "other documents" button in their application page where you can attach any other supporting documents, i advise you to attach your university transcript on it. But since you're applying for undergrad, i guess what weighs more is your high school transcript.
DeleteHi Cyro, I have received the interview email, can you plz tell what kind of interview this can be? I am from Pakistan
DeleteHello, I stumbled upon ur blog & I am glad I did. I wld also like 2 apply 4 d scholarship ds yr but I don't have my transcripts because my school does not give it. However, I do have my certificate. I have a cgpa of 4.39 out of 5 and an award for the best graduating in my class. I am 20 yrs, a female and I would like to have my masters in financial economics (my Bachelor’s is in banking and finance). I do not have scores of exams such as toefl or gre. What are my chances of winning & what is ur advice for me in the event I am called for an interview. P.S. I am from nigeria. Thank you very much. Awaiting ur reply pls
ReplyDeleteHello there, thanks for reading my blog. It's good to know that alot of people are considering Turkiye scholarships. I suggest you request from your department to release your transcript (even the unofficial copy). I am not sure if the scholarship team will accept your certificate since it is explicitly mentioned that applicants have to attach the transcript. Don't despair if you don;t have with you TOEFL or GRE. I too applied without these. Don't feel down, you always have the chance to win this scholarship. Always think positive. You just have to do your best. In the time you were called for interview, contact me again. I will be willing to extend all help I can. Now, it's too early to worry yourself with the interview. I hope I had helped you.
DeleteMy TOEFL was scheduled after my interview and during the interview they told me i could send them the scores afterwards but I don't know what email to send it to. Can you perhaps help me?
DeleteI would also appreciate it if u cld tell me some of the essay questions asked during the application. Sorry for troubling u. Tnks 1ce agn

hello Cyro Rasol. Glad to see you and read your post. I have applied that scholarship for 2015. but mine was rejected. i really need your information wether i can apply again next year! i do beg your answer. TY
DeleteYes, u did help. I will see what I can do about the transcripts. Thanks. I luv ur blog
ReplyDeletehi, when did they send the email confirms that you are accepted? I mean after the dead line date. moreover, hard copy of document when and how should we send them? thanksss in advance..
ReplyDeleteHello there, they sent the acceptance e-mail 3 months after the deadline. A month later, they sent the acceptance letter which tells the university we are supposed to enroll and the degree program. Once your acceptance has been confirmed, they will instruct you to visit the nearest Turkish consulate with your documents for the signing of scholarship agreement and visa application. This procedure will be on August. And by September, scholars are expected to arrive in Turkey.
Deletehi. what was the interview date ? and the deadline date?
ReplyDeleteHi Cyro! Fellow Filipino here. I am so happy I stumbled upon your blog. I recently received an email from the Turkiye Team stating that I'm selected for an interview. However, they didn't indicate the contact e-mail address or the venue for the said interview. Any advice? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You're close to winning this scholarship. If few are invited for interview from our country, they are most likely to give you a phone interview just like what they did to me. Lucky for you because you were informed. Last year I wasn't even notified whether I made it to the cut for interview. In case there will be no face-to-face interview that is supposed to happen in Turkish Embassy in Makati City, always have your phone line open. They might call you anytime. Last year, my phone interview was 9:00PM.
DeleteYou mentioned that the e-mail doesn't indicate the contact e-mail address and venue but is the date and time of your interview indicated? Wait for further notice and if you still feel uneasy, give the embassy a call. Congratulations again. :-D
Thank you for the reply Cyro. I will call the embassy today hoping for some specific instructions. All the best in your studies in Biology. Keep enjoying Turkey! Mabuhay :)
DeleteAll the best for you! :-D
DeleteCongratulations! You too are so close to winning this scholarship. The interview gives you the opportunity to further express yourself and thus increase your chances of being selected. They would be asking you why of many countries you decided to study in Turkey. In my opinion, you would have an edge if you venture to the benifits of the scholarship that will help you grow as a person. I am pretty much sure that many would mention of academic benifits. You too can mention them but offer them something unique and personal. They might scrutinize also your future plan. Make sure that you are willing to go back to your country as soon you finish the program and create a clear picture as to how you plan to apply your education to your country.
ReplyDeleteHi Cyro, Salam, I am from Pakistan and received my interview email two days ago with venue date and time stated in email, I am pretty happy that u made it and I hope I too make it to Turkey, can you plz tell more about interview questions? as I was wondering what might they ask...and secondly have you started your degree or you r learning turkish at present in Turkey? Kindly reply...maria

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I've mentioned in my previous comment my advice for interview. Refer to them. In addition, they might ask you also about your choice of program. You would have an edge if you are well-informed of your field. You might have to explain to them why you want to pursue the career of your choice. But remember to be prepared, they might just as anything.
DeleteI was last year's grantee so I am still studying Turkish. This year insha allah, I will start my graduate studies.
Well thnx and I hope to be this year's grantee :) and one more question, r u allowed to visit your home country once a year?
Deleteİ hope you get selected this year. Yes, of course. İf you can afford to go back, you can do it any time.
DeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI have been invited to set for an interview tomorrow inshalah. From your previous comments, I had an idea on the interview questions so thank you for sharing them. My question is if I get selected this year, I will study the turkish language for a whole year then start my master or it will be in parallel with my studies.
Thank you !
May you have the knowledge to ace your interview. All the best! Scholars have to secure a C1 certificate of Turkish Language Proficiency from approved language centers. Turkish courses are offered as 8-month course. For Master's for example, the whole program will last for 3 years (1 year Turkish prep course + 2 year graduate program proper).
DeleteHi Cyro,
ReplyDeleteI am Afsheen from Pakistan. My application is accepted and my interview is on 9th May 2014 in a nearby hotel. I hope i will qualify this. I applied for Masters in International Relations. My question is about GRE. I want to know is it compulsory to have GRE to get seat in Turkish university after getting this scholarship? I am quite worried about it since i am very bad at maths and cant sit in GRE test. I have checked few official sites of universities and they ask GRE or GMAT by international applicants as a requirement.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Thank you
All the best on your interview. May you too have the knowledge to ace your interview. İn the scholarship offer sent to selected scholars, they are directed to furnish TOEFL, İELTS, GRE, GMAT, etc as part of admission to the university they were placed. But as to whether this really applies to Turkish Scholarships grantees İ am not sure. Because Turkish scholarship grantees are admitted by a different method. İ am sorry if İ cant provide you a nice answer. My advice is to ask your interviewers regarding this. They might give you a better answer. But i really think you don't have to furnish them GRE. Goodluck again to your interview. :-D
DeleteThanks for a quick reply.
DeleteGood luck :)
Afsheen
Hi Cyro,
ReplyDeleteI must be thankful to you for your blog content. It is so nice.I am Mr.Dabo by name,a Guinean by nationality but resides in Nigeria.I applied to the Turkish postgraduate scholarship and later got an invitation email for interview without date and time.I was worried because the venue in the mail is quite far from where I stay.So I needed the date and time for conviency and accuracy.I wrote to am email address I was directed to write on inquiry about the interview.I wrote to the email several times but no reply.I also called the number in the mail but no one answered.I tried sending my cousin down to the address of the interviewm:e found out that they are not there.Later that week,we found out the embassy moved to a new location. We tried there too but to my surprise. They said that they know nothing about this interview. They were kind of ignorant about it all. So,I decided to call the Turkish scholarship center in Turkey.I did but we couldn't communicate due to language barrier.I have mailed them using the support corner on the website but still no response. Now,I am really worried as I will not like to miss this opportunity. Please, advice me on what to do.
Try calling this number 00 90 850 455 0982. This is Turkey Scholarship help desk hotline. İnitially, it will speak in Turkish but after that you will be asked to choose the language. İ think you have to press 2 for English. After that, you will be asked as to what category your question belong. You will again be asked to press another number. Your question will fall under 'Scholarship procedure' probably. Listen what number you should press.
DeleteAll is well brother! :-D
salam cyro i have been invited for the interview and i have been taken in adis ababa, Ethiopia.they asked me few easy questions. so my question is if i passed my interview is it about to be scholarship holder and when the interview results will be announced. please reply me soon.
ReplyDeleteGood to know you did well in your interview. Last year, they sent us the acceptance e-mail before the end of June. And a month after that they sent us the scholarship offer letter which contained the university we were placed and other details regarding the program.
DeleteThank you very much cyro for your quick reply.how to evaluate the applicant after the interview. thanks alot again.
Deletehey brother, I'm from Libya ...I applied for the undergraduate program ''Ibn sina medical program'' .. I'm asking if it's possible to create another account for a new application… because I forgot to upload an award …Is it going to reduce me chance to be accepted If I did another application ? and what are my chances I got 98.46% also I participated in volunteer work which I uploaded its certificate …in addition to a recommendation letter …also in my country there's not any tofel or ielts exam soon they're all after RAMADAN ,,,If I got the interview letter can I go and tell them there that I'll do it after the interview ?
ReplyDeletemay Allah bless you brother
This is my advice only. İt's better not to create a new accnt and make a new application. Your duplication may bring more harm than good. You have a very impressive CGPA plus volunteer program to support your application. İnshaallah, you'll get selected. Yes you can have your TOEFL or İELTS after because if you are selected, you'll need them when you come to Turkey.
Deletethank you very much ... i appreciate your help :) .. may allah bless you brother ... gd luck :)
DeleteHELLO Cyro, i am Kofi from Ghana. i have really found your blog useful as my confident level has been boosted to face the panel tomorrow in Ghana at the Turkish embassy for the interview. i was asked to come along with my documents. Pleasei would like to know if after the interview my documents would be given back to me just there or, it would be kept till they bring out a letter indicating my acceptance. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteİ am pretty sure they wouldn't keep your documents during your interview but as a precautionary measure have photocopies of all of your documents with you.
DeleteHi Cyro, ur blog was quite useful for me, they asked all the questions u told in ur comments...and enjoyed my interview as well, now waiting fr their response...hope to get it INSHALLAH...thanxxxxx
ReplyDeleteGreat to know you did well in your interview. I hope you get selected. :0 All the best!
DeleteThanks Cyro :)
DeleteI have problem if anyone can help me please, I submit my application to the scholarship and after a week I realize that i missed up in filling one of the fields. So there is no way to review the application one more time. and I want to apply with another account ; Is it not allowed or can I submit another application from another account?
ReplyDeletehey CYRO ....
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS SAAD FRM PAKISTAN I WANNA APPLY FOR THX SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME BUT I'HV JUST FREE FROM MY SECOND YEAR EXAMS ND RESULT S TO BE ANNOUNCED AFTR FEW MONTHS.. CAN I APPLY FOR IT ND CAN I BE SELECTD ON MY 1ST YEAR RESULTSS ? ( FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAME )
Hey there, since you are applying for undergraduate programme, what matters is your high school transcript. :)
DeleteI didnt get you, would you please explain ?
DeleteAs to how I understood from your comment, you are confused as to whether you should attach your 1st Year results. I shall presume then that you're in the university already enrolled in a bachelor program. However, you want to apply for an undergraduate program. This means that what weighs more in your application then is your high school transcript and not any grades you obtained from the university.
DeleteAlright! my mistake.
DeleteActually! I could not explain my question but your reply is comprehensive and i got my answer.
Thanks for your honest opinion.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletehey man ... first thing, I really wanna thank you for these useful information
ReplyDeleteI made a mistake in my application, instead of putting the enrollment year for the secondary school I put the year I entered my school which was two years before the secondary school, is it gonna reduce my chances ????
your help is appreciated .... thank you !
HI cyro, i have told you before that i intended the interview, but bro the admission state was blank before the interview and later after i intended the interview it was changed into"xxxxxxx is your reference number related to your application. It is being considered." it is that mean that my application is not considered.please could you explain to me.
ReplyDeleteHey, i don't know either what that mean. But this is what i can say, since you haven't yet received a rejection letter don't lose hope. You still have the chance to get selected. Always think positive. Just wait.
Deleteyeah u r rite abdalla..but i think it doesnt matter...bcz when i was waiting for the response regarding interview...a friend of mine, who also applied, checked her application status and it was written "in progress" under admission state, we thought she will surely get the call of interview, but instead i got the email for interview while nothing was mentioned in my admission state, so it is not important what is being written there, just hope for the best..rite cyro?
DeleteHi Cyro. I just had my interview via skype! ahhhh! I don't know if I messed it up or what.haha anyway here comes the waiting part.
ReplyDeleteHello Angela. I think you did great in your skype interview coz people who says "i think i messed up" actually nailed it. Nonetheless, I am with you in your prayers to get selected this year. All the best! :)
DeleteHahaha. I hope so too Cyro. Thank you. Much needed prayer :)
DeleteHello Cyro, This is Kofi from Ghana. I'm done with the interview. In fact everything went well and the questions too were standard. Please i would like to know the program you are studying in Turkey now and also the medium of instruction, that is if the program is taught in English or Turkish. I understand for a fact that i need to learn the Turkish language for about 8 months. However i would like to know if still the medium of instruction after studying the Turkish language for a year is still in Turkish or English.
ReplyDeleteHi Kofi! I am glad to know that your interview went well. Regarding with the medium of instruction, it depends on the program you will be placed. Most universities in Turkey use Turkish and only very few of the universities offer their programs in English and mostly those universities are in either in Istanbul or Ankara.
DeleteWow that's good to know. I hope to get a university in any of these cities you mentioned because i chose one of these cities.I Love to study the Turkish language but i am wondering if the terms and concepts used in my program of study would be understood properly by me if taught in Turkish. Because of this i hope to get a university that uses English as a medium of instruction but the Turkish language very compulsory as well to study, I love Turkey and the Turkish Language as well. But to just understand terminologies and concepts of my program in Turkish for just 8 months after learning i am wondering.
ReplyDeletehey every one ! thank you so much cyro for this blog. i actually had my interview last monday ; and i m quite nervous because i m not sure of it. they asked few questions about general subjects and even turkey actuality :S. Anywa, i wanted to ask how are you faring after almost one year there. is life good in turkey? is adaptation simple. i hope so much to get the opportunity to study there and to be chosen for the scholarship. have you found any difficulties regarding the study or the living in there ?
ReplyDeleteHey there. I hope you get selected too. Of course, living in a foreign country is quite difficult especially in the first few days because everything is different from what you used too. But after few weeks or months, you would be used to the new environment and everything would be fine.
Deletehi bro, i had my inteview may 8 and checked my admission status a week later and its indicate in progress. what does it mean and also if your application is to be considered what does that 1 to mean
ReplyDeleteHi Cyro. very useful blog. i have applied for PhD scholarship and attended interview at 7 may. They ask me whether i am interested in learning Turkish language. i replied in yes but mentioned that want to do my studies in english. they told me that i have not choosen English language programs but rather choose Turkish language programs. I stated i want to study in english. my question is whether they can allocate me any english language study program and whether they can allocate me any other university than my preferences. Do i have any chance with such a problem? if have selected whether studying turkish language is necessary?. thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI think they will place you in any of the universities you selected during the application. If you had not selected any English-teaching university, then I am afraid it's not possible. :(
DeletePlease Fahad what is your current status now after the interview
ReplyDeletewaiting for their decision. they will notify at the end of june
ReplyDeleteok thanks cyro
ReplyDeleteHello, I just want to ask about the meaning of the red dash in the admission state..!!i am really worried
ReplyDeleteHello friend, I have applied for undergraduate course now and currently I am not having IELTS or TOFEL.But my English is good. Can I be selected for studies in English medium?
ReplyDeleteTurkiye Burslari have mentioned on their website that IELTS or TOFEL is required on the day of interview.
hello Asad, i also applied for an undergrad scholarship this year, and about the IELTS or TOEFL, no matter how good ur english is, they will need a certificate of proficiency. soooo, sorry but, i think you need to take IELTS or TOEFL before the interview and take the certificate to be placed in an enlish-mediumed program. thats my opinion
Deletehello cyro my application admission state is still being considered and my other friend is blank with the red dash
ReplyDeletehello, mohamed, my name is Noah Gebre, am in addis. and have been invited to the interview(undergrad) for this week. can u tell me some of the questions that they ask u in there????? and, i wish u get accepted, bro, good luck.
Deletehello , i am sorry for late answer.my bro Noah Gebre its good to be invited and i hope to be selected. first the questions they ask among the students are different but the common questions such as why you choose this field. but bro bear in mind that you should not tell lie and know every thing you applied preferences and universities and the field. the interviewers will ask you friendly questions that you should know what you applied and all your application and can defend your field and state that you return your country and some times your future plans.and finally you must prepare your styles before interview like talking , clothing and sitting.
Deletehahaha.....i understand....but bro? what do u mean when u say clothing? they see what u wear tooooo?
DeleteWell i don't know as well if i am i am also to be worried or not because i also have a red dash at my admission status. Previously it was admission in Progress the finally after a week of my interview, changed to the red dash. All the same i am hoping for the best by the end of this month.
ReplyDeletehi cyro, can you please tell me that what does RED dash stand for, i m really worried.
ReplyDeletehello cyro, my name is Abreham I am from Ethiopia. I was called for interview and it is after 2 days. I htook TOEFL TEST 2 month ago and my score will come after 1 week but my interview is after 2 days . after I attend the interview can I give my score to the place that I attend my interview or fax to them. Please cyro help me?
ReplyDeletecyro seems out ,bro, i guess toefl takes longer to come out, i took IELTS on 26april and it came out on may 9, in just 13 days. any how, in the application guide, it says that u can get ur certificate to the interviewers if u couldnt get it during ur application time. i am not sure if they accept anything after the interview, but bro, its best u ask the interviewers during ur interview.
DeleteIs my passport required wen I have just reached n if yes for wat reason? Thanx.
ReplyDeleteHi Cyro. I hope you are good. I applied for Turkiye Burslari this year and got interviewed. Now I am waiting for the final email. Hoping to hear positive news. Ameen.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to ask you that did you check your application portal on their website after your interview? Did it say something like your application is being considered or has a red sign like (-) ? Students who applied this year are getting it and this is all really confusing. Can you help out?
By the way, you have a great story. Thumbs up! :)
I think the red dash so far is general to most people who applied and were called for the interview. I also applied and have checked seeing this same red dash. I dont think it means anything negative. what matters most is that in the end lets hope to be among the selected few. By next week i am hoping the results will be in and all shall be over.
DeleteAlso, what was your GPA when you applied, if you dont mind telling me? :)
ReplyDeleteHello there! I actually never checked my account in their website. I waited for their official e-mail sent to me.
DeleteAlright. And what's your GPA, if its cool for you to tell me? :)
DeleteAnd thank you for such a prompt response!
My interview will be tomorrow in Turkish Embassy Islamabad. I am Faisal from Pakistan, applied for Undergraduate Degree program. What type of questions usually they ask and what's their selection criteria? I have 93.63% in High School and 76.79% in Higher School. I did FSc. from GC University Lahore. I just want to know that how much chances there are for me to get my name placed in the final list of grantees from Pakistan? kindly inform me at faisal.jahangir@outlook.com and muhammadfaisal149@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHello every body! and ramadan mubarak for all who make it! does any body knows when are we supposed to receive the results of interviews?

DeleteHi Cyro, I AM A NIGERIAN i applied for Undergraduate scholarship but i am waiting for the interview. i am am so tensed because some countries have had theirs. will those that are not selected be notified? ISs it already late?
ReplyDeleteHi there. As far as my knowledge, they will send rejection letters to those who are not accepted. Since such email hasn't been sent to you, keep the faith and hope brother. I wish you all the best. 😃
DeleteHi Cyro i hope you are fine. Congrats upon completion of your language proficiency course in Turkish and a happy Ramadan. Cyro please i would like to know the terms and conditions given to scholarship holders in Turkey if they want to visit their home countries. I came across a Zaman newspaer in Turkey and it narrated the problems that International students who gain a Turkish scholarship faced and one of them was this problem. According to them, students after arriving in Turkey are not given the opportunity to even visit their families in their home countries even if a family member dies or if it is is vacation and one wishes to go and spend it in his or her country. Please clarify this for me as i patiently wait to receive this scholarship to study in Turkey. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello there, yes I am fine here. Alhamdulillah. Thanks for asking. Regarding with your travels to your country while under the scholarship, it is actually allowed and possible. However, you're the one to buy your tickets for the holiday. Remember that Turkish scholarships provide tickets only during your first travel to Turkey and after completion of the degree program. In fact, almost all of my classmates in my language class have gone to their respective countries for vacation this summer and they will be back early September for university registration. If a student at TÖMER, the Turkish Language center, need to fly back to his country for family emergency, such student can write a letter to YTB, the scholarship-granting government department. Because YTB has implemented stricter policies regarding class attendance last year. And in fact, they give permission. One of my classmates had to fly back to Kosovo immediately because her father was sick and she was granted permission.
Deletehello cyro, ramadan karim. i applied for an undergrad this year, i had my interview on June 15th, they said they would inform me in a month(around July 15th) or so. i mean, do they really inform u about ur result in a month? am asking this because, last year's applicants were informed in August. i swear, this waiting part is the worst.lol
Deletethanks, cyro
Hey there too. Ramadhan kareem! As for my case, i was informed exactly one month after my interview. However, same case may not apply to everybody. I know exactly what you feel right now but brother be patient and pray that if this scholarship is the best for you, may Allah (swt) grant you this. I know that the waiting part drives you crazy, i've been there too. Bur just keep the faith. All the best! 😃

Dear Cyro Rasol I hope you are fine I just waana ask a question what was your admission state before getting final result of scholarship application
ReplyDeletehey raheel, i hope cyro gets back to us soon, mine says "xxxxxxxxxxxx is ur reference number. its being considered.", am really worried. what does urs say?
Deletegood evening cyro, good evening to all this blog followers, i am also a candidate to the scholarship and this blog is being very helpful to me. i have few question about the scholar life in turkey. i d appreciate if you could give me those information.
ReplyDeletei understood that you ve spent a year in the dormitories. are they good ones? is there a minimal comfort there? how about hygene?
my second question is about life in turkey : is adaptation easy? is comodities affordable so that the stipend allocated is sufficient ?
my third question is about travelling home : in case we go back home for summer holidays, do we have to registrate again for the dormitories? is there any problem if we travel some where out of turkey during the scholarship ( i mean during courses or winter holidays)???
thank you so much for helping me
He there. I am sorry for the very late reply. Your comments were registered as spam email at my yahoo account. Anyway, the monthly stipend is more than enough to cover your basic expenses granted that you are entitled to a free dormitory and your breakfast and dinner are state subsidized too. Dormitories are of two kinds: there are the good and modern ones like the one i am staying right now to old ones. In old dorms, each room has 6 or 8 students. Hygiene is more of a personal issue because each dormitory has janitors to keep the dorm clean but some students are irresponsible. With regards to travelling home, you can do that anytime as long as you ask permission from pertinent person. I hope I had helped you.
DeleteHi Cyro,
ReplyDeleteDid your university require you to submit a GMAT results or any test results before going to Turkey?
Hope all is well.
Thanks!
Hi there. I am sorry for the very late reply. Your comments were registered as spam email at my yahoo account. Anyway, better to ask your institute to be more sure. But i guess, they need such document since you are already accepted to the university.

DeleteHi, hope this finds you well. I got the scholarship :-). Your blog was of so much help, thank you. I have a question though, they asked us to submit a health report together with our academic documents at the embassy. Do I go to a specific hospital (maybe government) or any will do? What will I tell the doctor? Are there specific tests they would like us to undergo? I was hoping to get a health form from the Embassy to take to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering about this too..
DeleteHe there. I am sorry for the very late reply. Your comments were registered as spam email at my yahoo account. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS! I hope to see you in Turkey. I am so happy you were accepted. It makes me happy to know that somehow I had helped you. To answer your question, it would be better to ask the embassy if they prefer particular hospitals, or tests to have, or a specific form to fill up because it may depend country by country.
Deletehello cyro my name isRamadan i am from ethiopia it has been one month and twoo week after my interview but still they have not sent any email what do you think any one other than cyro can share his idea to me ,(cyro may be busy) ??????????????
ReplyDeleteyou should visit https://www.facebook.com/turkiyeburslari for result updates and comments..
DeleteHi Cyro,
ReplyDeleteI have been selected for Turkiye Burslari and nowadays busy in preparing visa form. I just saw their manual today and found this given below.
High School Certificate of Equivalence for the
candidates of Two-year and Four-year degrees
Candidates to study two-year or four degree in Turkey need to obtain high school certificate of equivalence. If there is an Education Consultancy in your country, you can obtain the high school certificate of equivalence before departing to Turkey. If not, you can get it by
applying to the Provincial National Education Directorates in the province that you will stay in Turkey. Please ask to the officials of the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Turkey whether there is an Education Consultancy in your country.
Required documents for equivalence:
a)
Transcript or certificate education for the last
education year obtained from the educational
institution abroad
b)
diploma or certificate indicating that you are
entitled to obtain diploma
c)passport
The Higher Secondary Schools are Junior colleges or Intermediate colleges in Pakistan. These certificates are equivalent to the High school diploma in USA and to GCE A Level in England. Now do i still need to seek equivalence? plus we don't have any education consultant for these types of this..
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Thank you,
Afsheen Fatima
Pakistan
Hi there. I am sorry for the very late reply. Your comments were registered as spam email at my yahoo account. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS! I hope to see you in Turkey. I am so happy you were accepted. Enjoy your success.. :) ANyway, you can have that equivalence certificate here in Turkey before you register at the university.
DeleteHello cyro hope you are well. I m mey from tunisia and i got my scholarship too ^^. Just waiting for the flight ticket. I read in some blog that when arriving to turkey we have to pay for our phone devices. Did u do that ? Besides the blog saide thar we will be placed in temporary dormitories and then we have to register in a permanent dormitory that we might choose because we have a card or sthing. Is that true? How to proceed in that case :'( heeelp i m freecking out
ReplyDeleteHi there. I am fine and i hope you too. Congratulations! It is true that you have to register your smartphones for 120 TL if I am not wrong. You will stay at the state dormitory where YTB has found most suitable for you i.e.nearest to your language center. In case there's another state dormitory nearer to your university, you can apply for transfer IF you like to,
DeleteMerhaba Cyro!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mary, I'm from Greece and guess what....I want to apply for a scholarship (Master's degree) in 2015! While searching for info I came across your blog and I'm so happy for that. I read very useful things but still need support. I have an undergraduate degree with 7/10 grade (greek grading system) which is 3/4 ECTS if my calculations are correct..I'm already learning Turkish (B1 Level) and will go for GMAT. Which papers do you think are taken into consideration the most? Do you think that I have a chance?
Looking forward to your reply
şimdiden teşekkür ederim!
Hi Mary. Thank you for reading my blog and i'm happy to know that somehow my blog is helping you. You undergrduate grade is really fine. And the fact also that you're alredy learning Turkish is a good advantage. In the application, aside from usual requirements such as TOR and diploma, academic awards would also increase your chances especially if the competition in your country is tight. I strongly believe that you have the chance to win this scholarship.
DeleteWhat a fast reply...you are a good mentor!! :) :)
DeleteFeeling more confident now! I will give it a try and see what gonna happen!
Thank you very very much!
P.S I will definately come back with inquiries.. hehe
I wish nothing but the best for you. If you have quarries that are not answered through this blog entry and in the threads of comments, feel free to ask me. :)
DeleteCyro hello again and Heeeeeelp!!!! I'm so confused and here I cannot find proper assistance! :( As i said i will apply on March 2015 and now that i'm checking the universities in order to decide which test i'm gonna take (gmat, gre etc), i see that admissions are already open for 2015. Can you please give me a 'walkthrough' ?? I feel lost! And please tell me what did you do with the papers needed...(translations, apostille etc)
DeleteHi Cyro!
ReplyDeleteJust let me know did you upload your certificate also along with your unofficial transcript?
Hi Cyro, hope you are doing well. Can you tell me please whether recommendation letter is mandatory or not?Did you upload it while filling the application form?
ReplyDeleteHi.. I'm also applying for this scholarship. Besides IELTS, do I have to take GRE, GMAT as well? I'm applying for Biology postgraduate course and I'm from Malaysia I never take both tests except for IELTS.
ReplyDeleteHi cyro am frm kenya i applied my application but i havent got any email for interview but my friend has,my question is does each one of us get different dates for interview?
ReplyDeleteAs a lam aleikum cyro I haven't got any email for the interview while my friend got one , what does that mean am I rejected
ReplyDeletehi guys! can you tell what is the period between the invitation and the interview??
ReplyDeleteHi Cyro!
ReplyDeletei got my invitation but i don'y know when the interview is going to take place. can you please tell about the period between receiving an invitation and the interview date??
Thank you very much in advance!
hello hope you are doing fine … can you please provide info regarding selection criteria after interview? also what are the chances for masters in business administration especially marketing? i ask this because here in Pakistan i have come across very few Masters people who have been interviewed for business field let alone marketing.
ReplyDeleteHi there. İn as much as İ like to help you, İ can't because simply İ am not affiliated to YTB. The general criteria for selection are mentioned in their website. İf you indeed satisfy those criteria, then İ think you have the edge to win this. İ cannot speak for YTB because İ am not in the position to do so. However, if in your interview you've shown how determined you are by giving honest, appropriate, and somehow unique answers, İ don't see any reason for you to be negative. İ hope for your success.
ReplyDeleteHey cyro!
ReplyDeleteI was invited for interview on the 22nd of april,2015.
In my application form i chosed only one university out of 12 choices. The interviewer said they will try but it is going to be tough form me depending the level of competition in the selection process. From your experience do u think i did i have a chance to win the scholarship.
Hello. İt is indeed true that by choosing only one university out of the 12, your chances of winning the scholarship has significantly decreased by several folds. The competition to win this scholarship has become more tighter for you since you are vying for only one university which others too are vying for. However, if you are indeed qualified backed up by your academic records and your interview performance, you still have the chance to get accepted. Be positive always. All the best. :)
DeleteThank you for the respond. i just have to hope for a better result...

Dear Cyro,
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate your comments, i also choose only one university but i put it to my 12 choices.
My University choice is Uludag University. The interviewers didn't ask me about this, rather they ask me what i know about Bursa :D it seems they want to know what drives me to go to Bursa. So hopefully, i don't think they will reject someone who choose only one university as long as he chooses university which best fit with his/her qualification.
By the way, for those who are waiting for results like me, results are going to come on Late June...
i heard from one official who is working in YTB.
Good Luck for all!
Hello Dears
ReplyDeleteI wanted to know when exactly the results of YurkiyeBurslari 2015 would be announced
I went to interview
But I have not received any email yet
Thanks
Muhammed
My email is :
m.sultan.ahel@gmail.com
hey what are the chances of getting admission in private universities? my first 2 preferences are Atilim uni and Istanbul Ticaret uni .. But GOD willing if i get the scholarship i really hope to get placed Istanbul Ticaret uni, by mistake i made it my 2nd choice .. do you think masters candidates usually get first choices?
ReplyDeleteHI Cyro, I wanna ask about the documents for signing the scholarship agreement and visa application.
ReplyDeleteWhat kinda of papers do we need to bring along for each of these? (If you still remember)
As for the visa application, do we need to provide the photocopies of transcripts and stuff related with the seal of Ministry of Foreign affairs in our country?
Please reply and thanks in advane
Yes bring with you the original and photocopies (duly authenticated by the department of foreign affairs) of all of your papers i.e. diploma, TOR, medical certificate. But it would smart if you ask the embassy yourself coz they might have different requirements. God speed! :)
DeleteSalam, hope you're good,I wanted to ask what's better, if they booked the plane ticket or me& when they take me from the airport will they take me to dormitory & I'll be able to sleep there?
ReplyDeleteDo you think it's safe like for a girl to go there?
Do u regret going there & what are the do's & donts in turkey
Bless you
İn my own personal opinion, letting them buy your flight ticket is advisable over you buying it yourself. And there is really nothing to hurry. Your first year is intended for the languange course. İ used to have classmates who arrived 1 or 2 months after İ arrived in October because they had problems with their passports. So just wait because YTB will buy the ticket for you. From the airport, there will be a welcome desk and from them you can ask information as to what you should do next and how you can reach your city. İn some cases, from İstanbul (or Ankara) YTB might buy you a ticket to your city (i.e. Konya, İzmir etc.). My friend has shared to me that when he reached the bus station in his city (i.e. Bursa), some guys delivered them right to the doorstep of the dormitory. This though didn't happen to me. İ had to find my dormitory by myself. İ think, just be brave enough to find your dormitory by yourself in case no one is assigned to take you there. Regarding the dormitories, there are dorms in poor conditions especially the old ones but there are also new and well-furnished dorms shared by three people only. Just hope for a good dorm placement. And yes, you can sleep there. Just set some ground rules with your roommates if necessary. İt's safe for girls. :) God speed!
Deletein your experience has anyone been declined the scholarship after receiving the grant email?
ReplyDeletePlease it's urgent, I need to know between what months you signed the agreement???
ReplyDelete& should your passport be with you & valid??
AlSalam Alaykum, first may Allah grant you success & happiness for helping out all of us with this blog, second I wanted to ask, I got business Adm. but in turkish, do you think i should go? like its in turkish & idk if its possible to be able to learn in it the major so whats your advice?
ReplyDeleteAlaikumi salaam. Thank you for wishing me good. İ also desire the same thing for you and your family. İt is true that if you had been educated in a particular language all your life (in my case is English), learning in a foreign language might be a challenge. However, this challenge is not impossible to conquer. İn fact, nothing is impossible with a determined mind and a body willing to sacrifice. Your Turkish counterparts may have an advantage, but it doesn't mean that you cannot level with them and even outperform them. Yes İ heard of undergraduate students topping their exams despite the fact that the instruction in in Turkish. İt all depends on how you handle yourself. Learning is not about just the language of instruction but rather it is up to you and yourself alone.
DeleteDo you have any idea about IGCSE students?
DeleteLike is 12years of schooling & 7olevels enough for gaining this scholarship??

ReplyDeleteHi cyro I didn't apply this year as GRE and GMAT was required in many universities.so now I m preparing for it and would apply next year.I have done masters in business adminstration with gold medal and currently teaching business courses to college n university students.I want to pursue one more masters degree in education sociology or management....can I apply for Turkish Scholarship next year in masters program.though I have one masters degree. Can you please confirm this information from relevant authorities.Waiting for your reply...
ReplyDeleteHi there! İ really don't think that having a Master's degree already hinder you from pursuing another Master's degree. So even if you have MS degree in business admin, it is in my opinion that you can apply for MS Educational Sociology next year. Please visit www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr and find if they provided any hotline so that you can call them yourself.
DeleteGood morning my dear CYRO.
ReplyDeleteI am a candidate for Phd turkey scholaship, i received an e-mail from the embassy (not burslari) for an interview in june, and i did it.
In the beginning of this month, burslari informed that the winners of this year have been announced. But i did not receive any e-mail from burslari even for the interview which i did. I called the embassy, they said that, they did not get any information from burslari yet. My question is that, should we wait for our country (Guinea conakry), or all the results have been announced and there are no more results coming for this year?
thank you.
Good morning to you too. İt is true that they have started sending the results already to accepted candidates. İn fact they have sent also the formal letter of scholarship offer already. However, İ am not sure if they send rejection letter. Maybe the embassy can help you. You ask them if the results for your country has been released or not.
DeleteDear Brother. glad to see you and read your blog. Actually i had applied this scholars for 2015. But unfortnately mine is rejected. I really need your info wether i can apply again next year!. I do beg your answer. TY
ReplyDeleteHi there. İ'm sorry to hear that you were rejected. :( But you can try next year. İ wish next your you will receive acceptance. :)
Deleteالسلام عليكم
ReplyDeleteDo hAve any idea about the requirements of undergraduate for IGCSE student cause I can't find info, on the net. I got 7 olevels, & 1AS level
Sorry İ dont have any idea about that. :(
DeleteI made a mistake in the start and graduation dates of high school but my grades are good,am I at a disadvantage. Hopefully my comment will be seen.
ReplyDeleteAssalmu Allaykom,I wonder about letters of recommendation, if there is a form to be respected ? if not, please recommend me a standard form !
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance brother !
I do not think there are any format re: letter of recommendation. However, get a letter that contains the basics i.e. it should state how are you as a student, etc. :)
DeleteThanks :)
DeleteHi Cyro!
ReplyDeleteDo you know what happens if I choose to terminate my scholarship after the Turkish preparatory course?
I know some people who just leave the country and their scholarship is automatically cut after they fail to update their status. But I think nothing happened to them, but I guess the scholarship committee will include your name to their Black List, thus you may no longer apply for the scholarship in the future. And don't start anything with an idea of not actually finishing it until the end. It is not a good attitude. :) :)
DeleteThat's rather irresponsible of them, should they not inform the committee at the very least?
DeleteOh, that isn't my intention. I'm merely concerned about the ISIS threats in Istanbul. It might not be safe to complete four years there, so I need to understand the financial aspect before agreeing to anything.
Thanks!
Hie
ReplyDeleteHad my interview at the beginning of May just praying and hoping the results come soon
Hello,
ReplyDeleteAny idea what it means when your application status says "pending review". Is it something to be worried about?
It might mean that your application is under evaluation. That is, the scholarship committee hasn't arrived to a decision yet. Wait until they release the results. All the best! :)
DeleteAllo Cro Rosol kola gelsin ben somalide yaşiyorum ve sene turkiye burslari başvurdum hemde mülaaktimi yaptim şoyle bir sikinti var benim başvurum durumu pending review diye bir masej gosteriyor. Bu ne demek oluyor fikriniz var mi ? Cevapini bekliyorum sağol.

ReplyDeleteHello Cyro. thank you for your blog! I've applied for the scholarship (2016) and I ddin't get any response yet. The deadline is in two weeks and no e-mail regarding an interview has been sent. Is it normal or should I take it as a rejection? thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHello . I heard that applicants who didn't pass the first selection usually receive the e-mail later. Is it true? Other students from my country already received the interview invitation. But i didn't. It's been 4 days. Please, answer for this question?
ReplyDeleteHello sir, i'm trying to apply for turkey burslari scholarship,
ReplyDeleteI've done A levels and while filling my educational profile it constantly says 1 object missing, they ask to upload the diploma, i can't understand what is it, kindly help sir
That is a full scholarship so the entirety is unfastened: air price ticket to turkey, lodging, turkish language skillability classes for eight months, unfastened lessons, public medical insurance and of course, monthly allowance of 450 usd for graduate college students. So technically, what is required from the scholars is ideal academic status.
